   The OPEN DOOR office is located in the city of Reading, PA in beautiful Berks County.  If you are new to the area, you'll find a wide assortment of activities available within reasonable driving distance. 

   Berks County is nestled in the foothills just south of the Pocono mountains, where winter sports and wildlife abound. 

   Lancaster County, the heart of Amish country, borders Berks County to the south.  Take a Sunday afternoon drive and enjoy the horse and buggy lifestyle of the 'plain folk' as well as their superb farm products.

   Lebanon County is a quaint farming area on the western border of Berks County.  An easy day trip where you can enjoy a number of varied activities.

   Philadelphia is about a 75 minute drive to the east, with all the museums, performing arts, sports, shopping, and more, that are common to the big city.  Enjoy a visit to Independence Hall where freedom was born.  See the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross house, and other colonial era buildings in the city of Ben Franklin.

   If you like big cities, they don't come much bigger than New York City .  Take a bus tour or drive; it's only a little more than a two hours to all the excitement of the Big Apple.

   You can also visit our nation's capitol in a little more than two hours.  Washington D.C. offers the White House, the Capitol, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, and the Washington Monument.
